Permanent Lining and Lid

Our two-layer technique, with a light insulating concrete sprayed directly onto the steel shell and a high-density castable, has proven itself in many applications. The permanent lining is installed using self or easy flow alumina-based castables, which are both highly durable and lightweight.

Advantages of monolithic permanent lining

  • Seamless ceramic body
  • Increased lifespan
  • Shorter installation times

Tap Hole Repair

For tap hole repair, Weerulin uses high-alumina gunning concretes. The concrete can be applied to the hot tap hole using standard machine technology. Our repair concept increases the tap hole's durability by up to 20 heats after each gunning process.

Backfill Mixes

To prevent infiltration into the brick safety lining, we recommend our special backfill materials. These are high-quality, ceramic-binding products based on alumina or magnesite. The dry backfill materials are easy to apply without any tools.

Our binding systems ensure quick setting from approximately 200°C. The filled lining remains in the ladle for up to ten heats. The new wear lining is simply placed in front of the ceramic-hardened backfilling layer, and new backfill material is added to the worn areas.

Advantages of dry backfill

  • Quick and easy installation
  • No tools, no water required
  • Seamless ceramic bonding
  • No infiltration
  • Reusability for up to 10 heats
