Vacuum treatment of the melt is a leading process in secondary metallurgy. The widely used RH system places particularly high demands on refractory materials. Weerulin offers comprehensive refractory solutions for the RH-vacuum degasser:

External Maintenance

For hot maintenance of RH snorkels, Weerulin has developed special gunning mixes based on the highest quality raw materials. These mixes can be based on magnesite, bauxite, or corundum, with additional specialty raw materials like forsterite or tabular alumina complementing our product formulations. Complex organic or chemical binding systems are key to achieving a long service life.

Our philosophy is to fine-tune the gunning mix to match the vacuum system and the individual operation mode of the customer.

Internal Maintenance with INGUN®

The short spraying distance and high temperatures inside the snorkel require internal maintenance materials with low rebound and high adhesion.

For this, we have developed a manipulator with a patented spraying head: INGUN. This system eliminates even the smallest weak spots in the brick-lined interior. The core component is the 360° INGUN® spray nozzle, which, through a specially designed distribution cone, ensures an absolutely uniform spray pattern of the maintenance mix, reaching deep into the lower vessel.

The compact design of the Weerulin INGUN® robot makes it ideal for installation on existing service platforms. Our latest generation of robots features special functions such as an integrated heat-resistant camera, allowing visual access into the lower vessel. Hidden wear zones can thus be detected and specifically addressed.

RH Full-Line Service

Weerulin has been a "Full-Line Service" partner for RH vacuum systems for over 20 years. In the "Full-Line Service," we handle all refractory tasks related to the RH degasser. This includes the supply of fully assembled vacuum snorkels, their maintenance, the complete lining of the vessel operations (including refractory bricks), as well as procurement, installation, demolition, logistics, and comprehensive project management.
