Mouth Maintenance
Careful maintenance of the converter lipring is the key to easy de-skulling. If the mixes do not provide a perfect separation layer in the outlet between edge and slagging, then this may require time-consuming extensive cleaning.
The magnesia-based WEERULIN products provide good adhesion performance even on the naked steel sheet, enabling easy removal of the skulls. However, this requires careful application of the correct gunning technology, offered by WEERULIN as both machines and service.
