Taphole clays and Runners
Tap Hole Clays
The blast furnace is and will continue to be the most important primary aggregate in the steel industry. Temperatures of more than 2,200°C inside the furnace and tapping temperatures of approximately 1,500°C require perfected and completely reliable refractory solutions.
The core challenge lies in the application of a fast-binding, firm tapping hole mix, which can be drilled open easily. In this sector, WEERULIN works closely together with the technological market leader for environmentally sound filling masses. Our product range includes tar- and pitch-free, resin-bound products. These filling masses can be treated with drilling machines as well as with rods.
Runner mixes
WEERULIN offers all products for main, iron, slag and tipping troughs or runners. We have different product lines for wear, permanent and insulation linings. The range covers fast-heating pouring mixes, ramming masses, common gunning mixes and impermeable gunning mixes.
