Wear Lining
Wet gunning
The wet gunning technology is based on the idea of completely burning the insulating components during the heating-up process. This means the excavations produced then develop a perfect insulating effect. Complex bonding systems promote the complete penetration of any residual humidity.
The advantages of wet gunning are:
- easy placing
- high insulating effects
- easy removal of skull residues
- metallurgical segragates reduced to a minimum
- reduced wear of the permanent lining
classic-line
Our 'classic-line' products provide high refractory and excellent insulating properties. The well-balanced mix of raw materials offers an excellent price/performance ratio.
clean-steel-line
The idea of continuously improving the purity grade of the steel throughout the whole production process has also reached the steel tundish. WEERULIN has developed a pioneering SiO2-free bonding system for a tundish wet gunning mix up to the product ready for the market.
super-insulating-line
This product line was specially developed to cope with extremely long sequences and the high demands necessary for the insulating capacity of the thin slab units. The gunning mixes can be placed in layers of up to 140mm thickness. The super-insulating products enable our customers to reach casting periods of up to 100 hours. The temperature of the permanent lining can be reduced by up to 200°C.
dry-vibratable Technology
Together with its technology partner Sievering, Weerulin offers several decades of experience in the development and application of dry lining mixes. More than 200.000 tons of dry-vibratable mixes has been produced for use by our customers, making this partnership one of the world's market leaders in dry mix technology. For more details please read our special brochure on 'Dry- vib-products for steel tundishes.
